What to Expect

Glenview Folk Museum features a fully reconstructed 1930s Irish street scene that provides an authentic glimpse into rural Irish life during that era. The museum displays period buildings, domestic objects, agricultural tools, and everyday items that tell the story of Irish heritage and community life in the early 20th century.

Good to Know

Special Heritage Week opening is part of National Heritage Week (16-24 August 2026). Opening hours and admission details are available through the Heritage Week website. The museum is free to visit during Heritage Week. The reconstructed street scene gives visitors a real feel for how Irish rural communities lived in the 1930s.

Getting There

Ballinamore is located in south County Leitrim, approximately 20km south of Mohill and easily accessible by car via the N4.
