Castlebar Darts League Finals

At Castlebar Darts Venue · Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Darts league competition

The Castlebar Darts League Finals is the night the whole season comes down to - the best players from across the local pub circuit facing off for the championship title. Free to watch and rooted firmly in the community, this is the kind of evening that reminds you why darts has such a loyal following in Irish towns: competitive, loud, and genuinely good craic from start to finish. If you enjoy watching skilled players under pressure, or you just want an easy-going Sunday night out with local atmosphere, this delivers both.

What to expect

Finals night brings together the top players from the Castlebar Town Darts League for the championship decider. The league runs across multiple divisions and draws teams from pubs throughout the town - so by the time the finals come around in August, rivalries are well established and the stakes feel real. Expect a structured knockout or round-robin format, with the best of the season going head to head. The atmosphere in an Irish darts finals tends to be lively but friendly - spectators follow the scoring closely, groan at near-misses, and cheer finishes with the enthusiasm of a packed match night. Refreshments are available, and the social side is as much a draw as the competition itself.

Getting there

Castlebar is the county town of Mayo, sitting at the junction of the N5 (Dublin - Castlebar) and the N60. From Dublin it is roughly 2 hours 40 minutes by car on the M4/N5. Bus Eireann runs regular services from Dublin Busaras and from Galway into Castlebar town centre. The town also has a railway station on the Dublin Heuston - Westport line, with several trains per day - a practical option if you are combining the event with a longer stay in Mayo. Castlebar town centre has public parking on Spencer Street and around the Mall, and on a Sunday evening parking is generally straightforward.

While you’re in Castlebar

Castlebar punches above its size for a county town - there is a solid pub scene, the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life is a short drive away at Turlough Park, and the town is a natural base for exploring the wilder parts of Mayo. There is more to see in Castlebar and across Co. Mayo.
