What to Expect

Willie’s Charity Tractor Run sets off from the festival field at Moynalty on Saturday 8 August 2026 at 5pm, with all proceeds going to Blackwater First Responders, the local community first-responder group that provides emergency response support in the area ahead of paramedic or ambulance arrival. The run is one of the free village events held over Moynalty’s Steam Threshing Festival weekend, and organisers are encouraging tractor enthusiasts and supporters to take part in what the Meath Chronicle called “this meaningful fundraiser”. It runs alongside a separate, non-charity vintage tractor road run earlier the same afternoon, which registers at the museum complex from 3pm and departs at 4pm, returning to Moynalty village by 6pm with refreshments served afterwards. Together, the two runs bring a large convoy of vintage tractors through the village and surrounding countryside over the course of the Saturday, forming part of the wider build-up to the main festival day on the Sunday, when the 51st Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival itself takes place with vintage cars, tractors, horse-drawn farm machinery, steam engines, old-time threshing demonstrations, butter-making and cooking on open fires.
