Mindfulness Event with Himalayan Master

At Cappamore Community Centre · Cappamore, Co. Tipperary

Mindfulness Event with Himalayan Master at Cappamore

A Sunday afternoon session with a genuine Himalayan meditation master is not something that comes around every week in rural Tipperary. This event at Cappamore Community Centre brings His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji - a teacher who spent over sixteen years living and studying in the Himalayas - to a small, welcoming village hall for a guided mindfulness and meditation session. If you have been meaning to try meditation but never quite got round to it, or if you already sit regularly and want to deepen your practice, this is worth the Sunday drive.

What to expect

Sessions led by Himalayan Meditation Ireland typically run for around an hour and focus on guided concentration techniques rooted in an ancient Himalayan lineage. The core practice centres on the Sahastrar chakra - the crown of the head - as a point of attention, guiding participants toward a quieter mind and a sense of inner stillness. You do not need any prior experience; the sessions are explicitly designed to welcome beginners alongside those who meditate regularly. Expect a calm, unhurried pace with instruction from the master himself or experienced practitioners from the Irish group, which has reached over 2,700 adult attendees weekly across its Dublin, Galway, Limerick, and Athlone hubs. Wear comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early. No particular equipment is required - the hall provides the space.

Getting there

Cappamore sits on the R506 in the Golden Vale, roughly 20 km east of Limerick city and close to the Tipperary border. From Tipperary town, follow the N24 north-west toward Limerick and take the local road toward Cappamore - the journey is around 35 to 40 minutes. From Dublin, the M7/M8 corridor brings you to Cashel and onward via the R505; allow about two hours. There is no regular Sunday bus service on this route, so a car is the practical option for most people. Parking at and around the community centre is free and generally plentiful for a Sunday afternoon event.

While you’re in Tipperary

Cappamore itself is a classic Irish working village with a strong community spirit - the kind of place where the local show, the tidy towns committee, and the GAA are all very much alive. After the session, the Golden Vale countryside around you is worth a short drive, and you are well placed to stop at Lough Derg or follow the road toward the Tipperary heritage towns. There is more to see in Tipperary and across Co. Tipperary.
