Nenagh Through My Lens - Photography Exhibition

At Nenagh Arts Centre · Banba Square, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

Photography exhibition prints displayed in the foyer of Nenagh Arts Centre

Photographer Shivaniee Nadarajah exhibits “Nenagh Through My Lens” in the foyer of Nenagh Arts Centre from Thursday, 6 August to Monday, 24 August 2026, with a launch evening on the opening night at 6:30pm. The show is a mobile phone photography collection, capturing unplanned, instinctive moments around Nenagh and the wider county rather than posed or studio shots. Admission is free throughout the run.

What to expect

The exhibition sits in the venue’s Foyer space, which doubles as informal gallery walls for the arts centre’s rolling programme of local and regional artists. Shooting on a phone rather than a dedicated camera is central to the project’s premise: the pictures read as caught-in-the-moment rather than composed, made up of everyday Nenagh streets, faces and corners rather than landmark views. It follows directly on from two other exhibitions in the centre’s summer programme, “Glittering Eye” by Aishling Martin and “Windows of Imperfection” by Aoife O’Brien, part of a run of back-to-back local shows through July and August. Because the foyer is a working thoroughfare rather than a dedicated gallery room, the images can be viewed any time the centre is open, without booking, alongside whatever else is on that day. The opening night on 6 August adds a short launch event before the exhibition settles into open viewing for its three-week run.

Getting there

Nenagh Arts Centre is on Banba Square in the town centre, an easy walk from the main car parks and the Pearse Street bus stop. Nenagh sits on the Dublin-Limerick road and rail line, with regular Bus Éireann and Irish Rail services connecting both cities.

While you’re in Nenagh

The exhibition is a good reason to combine a Banba Square visit with the rest of the town, including Nenagh Castle and the lakeshore at nearby Lough Derg. There is more to see in Nenagh and across Co. Tipperary.
