The Roost in Maynooth turns its mezzanine and music bar over to an 80s and 90s themed night for an older crowd on Saturday 15 August 2026. Over 30’s: Nothing But 80’s and 90’s is pitched at people who want a proper night out without the younger student-night crowd The Roost is otherwise known for, playing music from the two decades across the venue’s main bar spaces.
The Roost is a large multi-room pub on Maynooth’s Main Street with a public bar, a lounge, a mezzanine bar and a dedicated music bar, and on nights like this the venue leans into what it calls a louder, more nightclub-style atmosphere rather than its standard pub set-up. The event is family-friendly earlier in the evening, but under-18s must be off the premises by 10pm, which is effectively when the room shifts into its adult club night, with 80s and 90s music running from there. Entry requires a free Late Night Pass in line with current licensing rules for late-night venues, which can be claimed in advance through The Roost’s own website, separate from the Eventbrite ticket for the night itself. The Roost has built a reputation locally for live entertainment, having picked up a regional award for Live Entertainment Venue, and its student nights are well known in Maynooth; this over-30s night is aimed squarely at the opposite end of that audience.
The Roost is on Main Street in Maynooth town centre, a short walk from Maynooth railway station on the Dublin-Sligo line and from the Dublin-Maynooth commuter rail service. Maynooth is just off the M4 motorway about 25 kilometres west of Dublin, with on-street parking around the town centre.
