At Secret Valley Wildlife Park · Coolnacon, Clonroche, Co. Wexford
Secret Valley is an open farm and small zoo at Coolnacon, near Clonroche, with a mix of native and exotic animals that children can hand-feed and get close to. Residents include capybaras named Guava and Mango, meerkats, porcupines, alpacas, llamas, pygmy goats, otters, lemurs, tamarins, macaws and reptiles, alongside more familiar farmyard animals. Beyond feeding, the park runs tractor rides, an indoor bouncy castle and regular animal talks through the day. For families who want more than a walk-round visit, bookable add-on experiences include a Little Helper Experience for ages 5 to 9 (2.5 hours), a Junior Keeper Experience for ages 9 to 15 (4 hours), a Meerkat and Porcupine Experience and a Capybara Experience (both ages 8+, 40 minutes), a Behind the Scenes VIP guided tour for ages 6 and up (90 minutes), and a longer Senior Keeper Experience for ages 16 and up (6 hours) for anyone who wants a full working day with the animal care team. All of these are booked as add-ons alongside general admission rather than as a replacement for it. The mix of indoor and outdoor space, including the indoor bouncy castle and indoor playground, means a visit can still work on a wet Wexford day, not just in fine weather.
Clonroche is roughly 20 minutes’ drive from Enniscorthy and about 25 minutes from Wexford town, on the R702. There is free on-site parking at the farm, and the flat, mostly outdoor layout is manageable with a buggy, though sturdy footwear is worth wearing given the animal enclosures.
