At Sligo Town · Sligo, Co. Sligo
Sligo Pride runs as a week-long festival across the town from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 September 2026, confirmed on the festival’s own Facebook page and listed among Sligo County Council’s 2026 festival calendar. It is one of the smaller, community-run Pride events on the Irish calendar rather than a large ticketed production, and it gives Sligo’s LGBTQ+ community and allies a dedicated week of visibility and organised gatherings in the town rather than a single day.
Sligo Pride is organised by a volunteer festival committee rather than a commercial promoter, in keeping with most regional Pride events around Ireland, which typically combine a public parade or walk with a run of talks, social nights and community gatherings across the week. As of the time of writing, the day-by-day 2026 programme had not yet been published - the festival group posts confirmed events and venues to its Facebook page in the weeks before the festival opens, which is the best source for exact timings once they are released. What is confirmed is the week itself: 14 to 20 September, based in Sligo town.
Sligo town is reachable by Bus Eireann from Dublin, Galway and Donegal into Sligo Bus Station on Lord Edward Street, and by rail from Dublin Connolly to Sligo MacDiarmada Station. Both are a short walk from the town centre, where the week’s events are expected to be based.
A Pride week visit combines easily with the rest of Sligo town - the Model arts centre, the Garavogue river walk and the town’s independent cafes and pubs are all within a few minutes of the centre. There is more to see in Sligo and across Co. Sligo.
