At The Abbey School, Tipperary Town · Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary
Each summer, children across Ireland pile into school halls with big ideas and nervous energy, and by Friday afternoon they’re performing on stage in front of a crowd of proud parents. That is the STARCAMP formula, and it has been working since 2007. This particular camp runs at The Abbey School in Tipperary Town across two separate one-week blocks in July 2026, giving families the option to book a week early in the month or later on. For kids aged 4 to around 12 who like to sing, move, act, or just try things out in a low-stakes environment, it is a solid summer week.
STARCAMP pitches itself as a performing arts camp rather than a sports camp, which means the days are built around drama, dance, and singing rather than drills and matches. Younger children (roughly 4 to 8) work in groups on games, clowning, movement, and crafts, building up to a short show at the end of the week. Older children tackle more demanding material - choreography, music videos, directing, and presenting. The instructors are working performers and trained educators; STARCAMP secured Dragons’ Den investment back in 2013 and has sent over 250,000 children through its programmes since, so there is real structure behind the fun.
It is a non-residential day camp, running full days from 9am. Children bring a packed lunch. The camp runs on a non-competitive model, so there are no auditions and no child is left standing at the side. Families who book online can access group discounts, and the per-week price is €122. Early booking tends to fill the popular weeks.
