At Nenagh Arts Centre · Nenagh Arts Centre, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
Brendan and Declan Murphy - the two brothers who make up The 4 of Us - have been one of Ireland’s most enduring live acts for over thirty years. This August night at Nenagh Arts Centre brings their signature blend of rock, folk, and pop to a 190-seat intimate theatre setting, which suits their storytelling style well. If you enjoy songs that have held up over decades and a performance built on craft rather than spectacle, this is a good Friday night out. Nenagh is an easy reach from across North Tipperary, Limerick, and Clare.
The set draws from highlights across their long career alongside newer material from their latest album Crescent Nights. Hailing from Newry, the Murphy brothers built their name on close harmonies and acoustic guitar work that holds up just as well in a theatre as it ever did on record. The show runs approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. Nenagh Arts Centre Theatre has good sightlines from most seats - it is a converted 1895 town hall with a well-regarded acoustic. All ages are welcome.
Nenagh sits on the N52 and is well signed from the M7 Dublin-Limerick motorway - take the junction for Nenagh and follow the town centre signs to Banba Square, where the arts centre sits. From Limerick city it is around 40 minutes by road. Bus Eireann operates services on the Limerick-Nenagh-Dublin corridor, and Nenagh has a train station on the Limerick-Ballybrophy line with connections to Dublin Heuston. Street parking is available around Banba Square in the evening; there is also a public car park a short walk from the venue.
Nenagh town is worth a look in daylight - the 13th-century Nenagh Castle keep is one of the best preserved in Ireland and sits a few minutes from the arts centre. There is more to see in Nenagh and across Co. Tipperary.
