Time Lapse by Maria Noonan McDermott

At Strule Arts Centre · Townhall Square, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, BT78 1BL

Artwork on display as part of the Time Lapse exhibition

Artist Maria Noonan McDermott’s exhibition, Time Lapse, is on display in the Strule Gallery at Strule Arts Centre in Omagh from Thursday, 3 to Saturday, 26 September 2026. The show follows directly on from My World in Wool by Sharyn Kelly, which closes in the same gallery space on 29 August, keeping Strule’s exhibition programme running back to back through the early autumn.

What to Expect

The exhibition is accompanied by an original piece of writing from the artist, a poem titled Winter Tapestry, credited to Maria Noonan-McDermott, which sits alongside the artwork as the artist’s own reflection on the show’s themes. Visitors can expect the kind of free, drop-in gallery visit that has become the pattern at Strule through 2026, following earlier shows this year from the Sperrin Art Society, the Easter Studio painters, the Northern Ireland Photographic Association, Rachael Johnson and printmaker Mary Kpakra. Time Lapse runs for just over three weeks, a typical length for the venue’s rotating programme, before the gallery turns over to its next show. As with Strule’s other 2026 exhibitions, there is no charge to view the work, and the gallery keeps the same daytime opening hours as the rest of the arts centre. Strule Arts Centre is a multi-purpose venue as well as a gallery, with a 384-seat theatre, a 125-seat lecture theatre, a recording studio and a dance studio under the same roof, so a visit to Time Lapse can easily be combined with a browse of the centre’s other listings or a stop in the on-site café.
