At Mid Ulster District Council Offices · Circular Road, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, BT71 6DT
Mid Ulster District Council’s full Council meeting rotates between its three offices, and its next sitting in the Chamber at the council’s Dungannon office falls on Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 7pm. Full Council is where the district’s 40 elected members formally ratify recommendations that have already been through the council’s committees, covering everything from planning and the environment to leisure, development and council policy. It is a standard fixture of local government in the district rather than a one-off event, held on a monthly cycle alongside the council’s Policy and Resources, Planning, Environment and Development committees.
Full Council meetings follow a set agenda published in advance through the council’s CMIS meetings and agendas system, typically at least three days before the meeting itself. Business usually includes formal minutes from committee meetings, notices of motion tabled by individual councillors, and any matters reserved for the full council rather than delegated to committee. Members of the public are able to attend in person, and the council also streams its meetings live on its YouTube channel for anyone who cannot make it to Dungannon in person, reflecting the general openness of Northern Ireland local government proceedings. Meetings can run for one to several hours depending on the agenda, and press are accommodated separately from the public gallery. This is very much civic process rather than spectacle, useful for residents who want to see planning, budget or policy decisions discussed first-hand.
The meeting is held at the council’s Dungannon office on Circular Road, on the edge of Dungannon town centre. There is parking on site for visitors, and the office is a short walk from the town’s main shopping streets for anyone combining the meeting with other business in Dungannon.
