The Sand Shed at McCallan Bonded hosts a one-night supper club on Saturday 17 October 2026, cooked by chef Ricky Robinson, winner of BBC’s Farm to Feast: Best Menu Wins. The evening runs to a six-course tasting menu built around slow-braised meats, seasonal roots and other local produce, with a complimentary drink pairing chosen for each course. The format has grown out of McCallan Bonded’s wider whiskey-heritage project on the site, so expect the story of the building and the spirit alongside the food, not just a straightforward tasting menu. The ticket price also covers fireside conversation and a set of traditional Irish music through the evening, so the night is pitched as a full evening’s entertainment rather than a sit-down dinner alone. Seats are limited given the small-venue, fireside format, and previous sittings have featured dishes such as ember-roasted heritage beetroot with whipped horseradish and pickled brambles, alongside Kilkeel scallops, giving a sense of the kitchen’s style. The drink pairing for each course is described as a sample size rather than a full glass, so guests taste their way through six matches over the evening rather than a couple of large pours, and the pacing is set around courses and conversation rather than a fixed sitting time.
