West Cork Masters of Tradition Festival 2026

What to Expect

Masters of Tradition 2026 runs from Wednesday 19 August to Sunday 23 August in Bantry, bringing together the finest Irish and international traditional musicians for five days of concerts, workshops, and masterclasses. Well-known musicians give talks sharing their knowledge of Irish music, and impromptu trad sessions continue day and night in pubs and on the streets of Bantry throughout the festival.

The festival is a community immersion in Irish traditional music culture, welcoming experienced players, students, and listeners in equal measure. Workshops and classes are open to trad musicians and singers of all levels.

Getting There

Bantry is approximately 90km from Cork City on the N71. Bantry town centre pubs and the Sea Fort venue are all within walking distance once in the town.
