What to Expect

The Wizard of Oz is the Market Place Theatre Armagh’s summer musical for 2026, following the record-breaking production of Oliver! in the previous year. The production features a cast of local young talent supported by wonderful sets, colourful costumes, a live orchestra and all the memorable tunes from the classic story. Dorothy and Toto follow the yellow brick road through the Land of Oz, encountering witches, Munchkins and a cast of unforgettable characters - the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion among them.

Songs include We’re Off to See the Wizard, Over the Rainbow, Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead and If I Only Had a Brain. The Market Place summer musical is one of the flagship events of the theatre’s year and tickets typically sell quickly.
