Bewley's Big Coffee Morning for North Louth Hospice

North Louth Hospice Homecare is once again the local beneficiary of Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice on Thursday, 24 September 2026, part of the nationwide fundraiser that has run since 1992. Rather than one central event, the day works as dozens of small coffee mornings hosted by cafes, workplaces, schools and individuals across Dundalk and the wider north Louth area, with proceeds going to the hospice’s home care service. North Louth Hospice Homecare provides palliative home nursing and family support to people in the Dundalk area, work that is funded largely through community fundraising rather than core state funding.

What to expect

Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice is organised nationally by Together for Hospice, and participants register their own coffee morning online or by phone and then simply host it, so the format varies from a workplace tea break to a full table-quiz-style event in a community hall. In north Louth the day is fronted locally by North Louth Hospice Homecare, whose treasurer, Anne Newell, has been promoting the campaign as it enters its thirty-third year nationally. Money raised locally goes toward the hospice’s home care and in-patient support services for the Dundalk and north Louth area rather than into a national pool. Businesses and community groups in the town are encouraged to register their own coffee morning for the day, with the hospice’s own channels listing which local venues are taking part closer to the date.
