Hold This: Drop-In Workshop Tables at VISUAL Carlow

What to Expect

As part of the Artworks 2026: Hold This exhibition, VISUAL Carlow has installed workshop tables at the centre of the Link Gallery for the full duration of the show. The tables are available on a drop-in basis for any gallery visitor and also serve as the base for a series of workshops, meetings and exchanges hosted by selected artists throughout June, July and August. Sessions cover topics aligned with the exhibition’s themes of skill exchange, analogue knowledge and human connection - from making and craft to conversation and co-design. Individual artists selected through the Hold This open call deliver some of these sessions; others are open and self-directed.

Good to Know

• Drop-in access is free and available whenever the gallery is open (Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5:30pm, Sunday 12pm-5:30pm).

• Scheduled artist-led workshop sessions are also free; specific dates announced on visualcarlow.ie and VISUAL’s social media.

• Suitable for adults and young people.

• No booking required for drop-in use of the tables; booking may be required for individual artist-led sessions.

VISUAL Carlow is on Old Dublin Road, a short walk from Carlow town centre and Carlow train station on Railway Road.
