What to Expect

Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff is open throughout the summer for visitors to explore thousands of years of Cavan history. Headline attractions include the WW1 Trench Experience - the largest outdoor replica trench open to the public in Ireland and the UK, built to the specifications of the Irish Guards and Royal Irish Fusiliers at the Battle of the Somme. The museum also houses a 1916 Rising exhibition, a comprehensive collection of artefacts from prehistoric times, and the new Courageous Men of Cavan community arts exhibition launched during Heritage Week.

The museum runs scheduled events throughout the summer including guided storytelling sessions, family activities, and special Heritage Week programming in mid-August.

Located in Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, just off the M3 Dublin to Cavan motorway. Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from Dublin. Free car parking on site.
