What to Expect

The annual Cavan Famine and Aids Appeal for Africa church gate collection takes place across Cavan parishes over the weekend of 6-7 July 2026. This registered charity was founded by the late Rita Sheridan. Donations are split equally between three overseas Christian missions: the Holy Rosary Sisters in Nigeria, Fr James Connolly’s Capuchin mission in Zambia, and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Mutomo, Kenya. All proceeds go directly to the charities and are used to educate and train nurses, feed hungry children, and provide healthcare.
