The last four clubs standing in the Cavan Senior Football Championship meet at Kingspan Breffni on the weekend of 27-28 September 2026, with two semi-finals to decide who competes for the county title. This is county club football at its most intense - local rivalries, packed terraces, and games that get talked about for years. Two ties make up the weekend’s programme. Kingscourt Stars face Ramor United in one semi-final, and defending champions Crosserlough take on Gowna in the other. Gowna, Crosserlough and Ramor United have claimed four of the last five Cavan titles between them. Crosserlough are chasing back-to-back championships for the first time since their seven-in-a-row run in the 1960s and 70s, while Gowna knocked them out at the semi-final stage in 2025 - so this rematch carries real edge.
Kingspan Breffni holds around 25,000 spectators, with over 5,000 seats in the main stand. For county semi-finals the ground fills to a proper match-day atmosphere without being uncomfortably packed. Bus Eireann runs regular services from Dublin Busaras to Cavan town; the journey takes about two hours. Match-day parking is available at the ground and in the surrounding area, and the town centre is a short walk away.
