Twin brothers Matthew and Owen Ennis have built a loyal following across Ireland with their blend of country and Irish music - close harmonies, feel-good energy, and a setlist that moves easily between contemporary country and the older songs people grew up with. They won Best Newcomer at the Sunday World Country Music Awards in 2020 and have been a fixture on the Irish country circuit since, sharing stages with Daniel O’Donnell, Nathan Carter, and Derek Ryan. Hotel Kilmore runs a busy year-round concert programme - Nathan Carter, The Drifters, Derek Ryan, Philomena Begley, and others have all played there. The Ennis Brothers fit the venue well: their show is built around tight two-part harmonies, the kind that carry easily in a mid-size hotel ballroom. You can expect a mix of original material, chart hits from the Irish country scene, and covers of the songs they grew up on - they cited The Everly Brothers as a formative influence early in their career. Cavan town sits roughly in the centre of the country, easily reached from Dublin (about 1 hour 20 minutes on the N3/M3), from Belfast (about 1 hour 30 minutes via the A3 and N54), or from Monaghan (about 30 minutes). Bus Éireann runs a regular service from Dublin Busáras to Cavan town, with the journey taking around two hours. Hotel Kilmore is on the Dublin Road on the south side of town - if you are coming from Dublin, you pass it before you reach the town centre. There is ample free parking on site.
Cavan town has a compact, walkable centre with a good few pubs and restaurants for before or after the show. The county is lake country - if you have time to spare before the afternoon concert, the drive to Lough Oughter or Killykeen Forest Park takes less than 20 minutes from the hotel.
