Glen Dimplex Premier Junior Camogie Championship Semi-Finals 2026

The All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Championship is the top tier of the junior grade, and the semi-finals on Saturday 18 July are the last hurdle before a place at Croke Park on Final Day in August. Six counties competed through a round-robin group stage - Cavan, Armagh, Tyrone, Kildare, Roscommon, and Wicklow - with the four highest-placed sides going through to the last four. This is competitive, purposeful camogie, and for a county that has put serious effort into its camogie programme, a home semi-final involvement would be a significant occasion. If you have any connection to the game, these afternoons are well worth attending: fast, skilful, and played without the fanfare (or the queues) of the senior championship.

What to expect

Two semi-finals take place on the same day, each deciding one finalist for the All-Ireland decider at Croke Park on 9 August. The Premier Junior grade consistently produces tight, physical games - teams at this level are close enough in ability that margins are small and the atmosphere tends to be intense without being overwhelming. A semi-final crowd is usually a mix of travelling county supporters and curious locals, which makes for a good day out even if you are not a partisan of either side. Play is typically quick, the scoring runs are dramatic, and there is almost always a moment that makes the journey worthwhile. Fixture pairings and the confirmed venue will be published on camogie.ie once the group stage concludes.

Getting there

Cavan town sits roughly in the centre of Ireland and is straightforward to reach from most directions. From Dublin, the N3 takes you directly there in about 90 minutes; from Belfast, the A3 and N54 route comes in from the north in similar time. Bus Eireann operates regular services from Dublin Busaras (route 30), and there are connections from Monaghan and Enniskillen. Parking at GAA venues in Cavan is generally available on-site or within easy walking distance - check the confirmed venue once it is announced for any specific arrangements.

While you’re in Cavan

Cavan town has a good range of places to eat and good pubs for post-match discussion. The Cavan Burren and Lough Oughter are within easy reach for anyone staying an extra few hours. There is more to see in Cavan and across Co. Cavan.
