Jurassic Adventure - Fairways Hotel Dundalk

At Fairways Hotel Dundalk · Dublin Road, Haggardstown, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 E6KC

Jurassic dinosaur experience at Fairways Hotel Dundalk

Younger children who can recite every dinosaur species from memory and older ones who say they’re too cool for it - both tend to leave this show with the same look on their faces. Jurassic Adventure is a live, interactive dinosaur experience brought to the Fairways Hotel in Dundalk by Loc-Down Events, a Northern Ireland company that specialises in dinosaur hire and live shows. It runs for two hours, it is hands-on, and it is aimed at all ages.

What to expect

Rangers Mike and Steve lead the session, guiding families through a series of live demos with the dinosaurs. The running order includes velociraptor training, a close encounter with a baby T-Rex, and the chance to feed herbivores - the calmer, plant-eating kind. The format is structured but relaxed; there is enough audience participation to keep children properly engaged rather than just watching from seats. Doors open at 3:30pm so there is time to settle in before the 4pm start, and the whole thing wraps up by 6pm. Free parking is available on site, which takes one thing off the list on a Sunday afternoon.

Getting there

The Fairways Hotel sits on the Dublin Road (N1/M1 corridor), roughly 3km south of Dundalk town centre - straightforward to reach whether you are coming from Dublin, Belfast, or nearby in Louth. From Dublin, it is around an hour on the M1; from Belfast roughly the same. Bus Eireann and Translink services run between Dublin and Belfast via Dundalk, and the hotel is close enough to the main road to reach by taxi from the town’s bus or rail station. Dundalk railway station is on the Enterprise intercity route and has frequent connections. Parking at the Fairways Hotel is free.

While you’re in Dundalk

Dundalk is a solid stop for a day out - there is good food along Park Street, the medieval motte at Castletown Mount is worth a short detour for anyone keen on local history, and the Cooley Peninsula is just a few kilometres north if the weather holds. There is more to see in Dundalk and across Co. Louth.
