Summer Stars Reading Programme

What to Expect

Summer Stars is a free national reading programme that encourages children of all ages to read for fun during the school holidays. Participants can read books, audiobooks, picture books or graphic novels at their own pace, track their reading progress, set personal goals and take part in hundreds of fun events and activities hosted by libraries across Kildare.

Good to Know

The programme runs from June 2nd to August 31st, 2026. All Kildare libraries will host events, activities and story times throughout the summer. Each child who completes the programme receives a certificate of participation. The programme takes place at Kildare County Libraries throughout the county. Visit your local library branch for participation details and event schedules.
