Summer Stars Reading Challenge 2026

What to Expect

Summer Stars is an annual reading challenge for children up to 12 years old, running throughout June, July and August 2026 across all Laois library branches. The programme includes free summer events and activities, special guest authors and creators, prizes for completing the challenge, and storytelling sessions. Children complete a reading log to track books throughout the summer.

• Runs June 1 - August 31, 2026
• Open to children up to age 12
• Free to participate in the reading challenge and events
• Booking for individual events opens two weeks before each event
• Available at all Laois library branches

Getting There
