Last Friday Drinks for Remote and Hybrid Workers

Last Friday Drinks is a monthly, informal meetup for remote and hybrid workers in Greystones, held at Mrs Robinson on the last Friday of every month. It is aimed at anyone who works from home, splits their week between home and an office, or is simply curious about remote working and wants to meet others doing the same in north Wicklow. The format is deliberately low-key: no talks, no agenda, just a chance to swap notes over a drink after a working week spent mostly alone.

What to expect

There is no set programme. Regulars and newcomers gather from 6:30pm, and the first drink is on the house for anyone attending, which keeps the barrier to showing up low. Conversation tends to run toward the practical side of remote and hybrid work: which cafes and co-working spots in Greystones and Bray are good for a working day, how people structure a week split between home and an office, and the more social question of how to avoid the isolation that can come with working alone most days. A similar format runs on the same monthly cadence in a handful of other Irish towns, but this edition is specific to Greystones and reliably draws a mix of freelancers, remote employees of larger companies and people newly arrived to hybrid work.

Getting there

Mrs Robinson is in Greystones town centre, within easy walking distance of Greystones DART and railway station on the Dublin to Rosslare line, and close to the harbour. The town centre has on-street and pay parking for anyone driving in for the evening.
