Photographer Mick McCormack shows his work at the Library in Dillon House, Ballaghaderreen, from Tuesday 4 to Saturday 8 August 2026, as part of the Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival’s exhibitions programme. Mix Pix runs free of charge across the festival’s first week, giving festival-goers a low-key, drop-in alternative to the ticketed music and theatre events filling the evenings in the town at the same time.
The exhibition is staged inside Dillon House, a historic building in Ballaghaderreen that also houses the town’s library, so visitors get a look at one of the town’s notable buildings as part of the visit rather than a neutral gallery space. McCormack’s photography is shown daily at 2pm across the five days of the exhibition’s run, fitting around the library’s normal opening hours. As with the rest of the Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival’s exhibition programme, Mix Pix is presented as a walk-in show rather than a ticketed one, in keeping with the festival’s stated aim of putting a broad range of local and returning talent in front of the town rather than restricting access to paying audiences. It runs alongside other festival exhibitions in the town, including a photography and art trail through shop windows and a dedicated community arts show at the Phoenix Centre, giving visitors several exhibition stops within easy walking distance of each other.
Dillon House is in Ballaghaderreen town centre, within walking distance of the other festival venues including Durkin’s and the Cathedral. Ballaghaderreen is on the N5, roughly 20 minutes from Ireland West Airport Knock.
