Fuerty Fair takes over the fair green at Fuerty, about four miles outside Roscommon town, on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Organised through Dalton’s Pub in the village, it is a traditional country fair built around horse and sheep sales rather than a curated festival, the kind of gathering that has marked the farming calendar in small Roscommon villages for generations. It draws buyers, sellers and browsers from across the county and beyond, with competitions, food stalls and children’s activities running alongside the sales.
The green fills with horses and sheep from early on the day, with sales and dealing at the centre of the event, alongside judged competitions for animals brought to show rather than sell. Around the sales ring, expect food vendors, craft and general stalls, and children’s activities aimed at keeping younger visitors occupied while the adults deal. Live music runs through the day, giving the fair the feel of a village occasion rather than a purely commercial livestock event.
