Roscommon Pride runs for a full week in Roscommon town from Monday, 17 August to Sunday, 23 August 2026, described by organisers as its biggest programme yet. The week builds toward a Pride march on Saturday, 22 August at 2:30pm, setting off from The Quad in the town centre, with events spread across venues including Roscommon Arts Centre and local pubs through the preceding days. It has grown from a small local gathering into a week-long programme covering music, community meet-ups and a dedicated market spotlighting local craftspeople.
The week runs across day-by-day programming rather than one single event, with different strands for the early week, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, 22 August is the centrepiece, with the Pride march leaving The Quad at 2:30pm and events continuing into the evening, including a gathering at Gleeson’s. Roscommon Arts Centre hosts Common Threads, an Irish and European Pride showcase on Thursday, 20 August, bringing together local and international performers as part of Ireland’s EU Presidency cultural programming. Organisers have also flagged a market strand for 2026 spotlighting local crafters, bakers, painters, illustrators and candlemakers, alongside the festival’s existing year-round Bród Book Club and Meitheal social group. It is a community-organised festival rather than a large commercial one, so the scale is intimate and Roscommon town based.
Roscommon town sits at a crossroads in the Irish midlands, about 130km west of Dublin and 60km east of Galway on the N61 and N60. Bus Éireann serves the town on routes from Dublin and Galway. The Quad and the town’s pubs and venues are all within walking distance of each other in the compact town centre.
