Roscommon Town Men’s Shed meets every Friday at The Cube on the Lanesboro Road, inside the Roscommon Leader Partnership building, giving the group’s twenty or so members a regular weekly base after outgrowing their previous room. The shed moved into these new premises at the start of 2026, with an official opening at the end of January performed by broadcaster Ciaran Mullooly, and the extra space means members can now take on hands-on projects rather than only meeting for a chat.
A typical Friday session mixes practical work with the tea and conversation that Men’s Sheds are built around. Members work on small woodworking and repair projects, and the new base gives them proper workshop space for the first time rather than a shared community room borrowed for the morning. As with Men’s Sheds elsewhere in Ireland, the emphasis is on turning up rather than arriving with a finished plan, a low-pressure setting where men can work alongside each other, pick up a new skill from someone with more experience, or simply have somewhere to be on a Friday morning. New members are welcomed regardless of woodworking experience, and the group has room to grow now that it has a permanent home.
The Cube is on the Lanesboro Road on the edge of Roscommon town, close to the Roscommon Leader Partnership offices. There is parking on site, and the location is a short drive or walk from the town centre.
