Seams In My Socks - Film Installation

At Nenagh Arts Centre · Banba Square, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

Screen showing the Seams In My Socks film installation

“Seams In My Socks” screens as a looped film installation in the Echo Corridor gallery space at Nenagh Arts Centre from Thursday, 27 August to Friday, 4 September 2026, with a launch event on the opening evening at 6pm. The eight-minute film, made by author and performer Yonit Kosovske with composer Justin Grounds, examines neurodiversity through personal narrative around autism, stimming, sensory sensitivity, misophonia and OCD. Admission is free.

What to expect

The piece began as a live performance before Kosovske and Grounds reworked it into an interdisciplinary film, combining text, music, narration and moving image rather than staying a stage piece. On the launch night, guest speaker Eleanor McSherry introduces the work at 6pm, followed by the film itself at 6:15pm and a question and answer session with the artists and producer from 6:30 to 7pm. After that opening night, the film runs on a loop in the Echo Corridor for the rest of its run, so it can be watched by anyone passing through the centre during opening hours without booking. The film includes closed captions and subtitles throughout, and the imagery includes rapidly changing footage of stimming movements alongside layered, overlapping spoken text, which the venue flags as more intense than a conventional short film. It is recommended for ages 10 and up.
