Slow Sessions 2026 - Traditional Music for All Levels

At Droichead Arts Centre · Stockwell Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth

Traditional Irish music session

What to Expect

Droichead’s Slow Sessions are for musicians of any instrument at any level. Facilitator Brendan McCreanor, a multi-instrumentalist, accomplished uilleann piper and founding member of the band Kern, leads participants through well-known session tunes played slowly so that beginners and returning players can participate. Tunes include jigs, reels, slides, polkas and hornpipes from across the country including a couple of Co. Louth tunes. Each session is 90 minutes to two hours with a five-minute break. Capacity is limited; early booking is advised.
