Summer Stars Reading Programme - Louth Libraries

What to Expect

Summer Stars is a national initiative run by Libraries Ireland in partnership with the 31 local authorities. It encourages children to keep reading over the summer holidays. Any child who reads at least one book or e-book over the summer is considered to have completed the programme. Children can register at any Louth library branch and receive a free Summer Stars pack including a seeded bookmark and tote bag. The programme is entirely non-competitive and is free. Louth branches include Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee, Carlingford and others.

Good to Know

• Dates: June to end of August 2026 (check individual branch opening hours)

• All Louth branches: Dundalk, Drogheda (Fair Street and others), Ardee, Carlingford, Dunleer, Dundalk Centra, Blackrock

• Free and open to all children

• No minimum number of books required
