At Cashel Palace Hotel · Cashel, Co. Tipperary
A full day of gentle movement, breathwork, and rest set inside one of Ireland’s finest five-star hotels - this retreat from Luam Wellness is a chance to properly slow down for a Saturday in July. It suits anyone who wants to reset without committing to a residential stay: you arrive at 10am, you leave at 4:30pm, and in between you have six and a half hours of structured wellbeing in genuinely beautiful surroundings. The programme is pitched at women and is built around being accessible regardless of experience, so you do not need a yoga background or any prior knowledge of breathwork to get something real from the day.
Luam Wellness runs the programme across the day in layers. The morning opens with gentle and restorative yoga and breathwork, followed by mindfulness and aromatherapy sessions. Yoga Nidra - a guided deep-rest practice sometimes called yogic sleep - features in the afternoon alongside time in the hotel’s gardens. The setting does a lot of the work: Cashel Palace reopened in 2022 after a full restoration and is now a Relais & Chateaux member, with a walled Secret Garden, 17-metre heated pool, thermal suite, and direct views of the Rock of Cashel from the grounds. You do not need to use the spa to benefit from the atmosphere.
A seasonal light lunch sourced from the Palace kitchen is included in the ticket price, along with mid-morning refreshments. Dietary requirements can be flagged at booking. Refunds are available up to 15 days before the event if plans change.
Cashel sits on the M8 Dublin to Cork motorway - exit at Junction 10 for Cashel town. From Dublin the drive is around 1 hour 45 minutes; from Cork it is under an hour. The hotel is on Main Street in the centre of the town and has on-site parking. There is no direct rail link to Cashel, but Bus Eireann operates services from Dublin Busaras and from Cork to Cashel on the Cork - Dublin route, with the stop a short walk from the hotel.
The Rock of Cashel - the medieval fortress complex on the limestone outcrop above the town - is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and worth an hour of anyone’s time before or after the retreat. The town itself is compact and easy to explore on foot. There is more to see in Cashel and across Co. Tipperary.
