Tipperary Kids Summer Camps - Cahir

At Bunscoil na Cathrach · Cahir, Co. Tipperary

Children at summer camp activities

A full week of supervised activity for children aged 5 to 12, running through the second week of August in Cahir. Let’s Go Kids Camps has been running multi-activity summer programmes across Ireland for years, and the Cahir camp is one of their Tipperary bases - a practical, good-value option for families who want their kids busy, outdoors, and with other children when school is out. It suits working parents as much as it suits children; the 9:30am to 3:30pm format covers the bulk of the working day.

What to expect

The camp runs Monday to Friday at Bunscoil na Cathrach, a well-established primary school in Cahir. Let’s Go’s programme is designed by PE teachers and delivered by qualified, Garda-vetted staff. On any given day children rotate through a mix of team sports - football, basketball, rounders, hockey - and high-energy games like obstacle courses and group relays. There are inflatable activities and KMX karting in the mix too.

The Cahir camp includes a VR session: children aged 7 and over are given headsets for an immersive virtual reality challenge where they compete and interact with one another. It tends to be a highlight of the week. Younger children (5 to 6 year olds) have their own adapted programme running alongside.

Lunch is not included, so children need a packed lunch and a water bottle each day. Booking is through letsgo.ie, and the sibling discount is worth noting if you have more than one child going - the second child is €117, the third €102.

Getting there

Cahir sits on the N24, roughly equidistant between Clonmel and Tipperary town, about 20 kilometres from each. From Dublin the M8 motorway brings you south to Cahir in just under two hours. Bus Eireann runs regular services along the Clonmel - Cahir - Tipperary corridor. Bunscoil na Cathrach is in the town itself, and the school grounds have on-site car parking for drop-off and collection.

While you’re in Cahir

Cahir Castle, one of the largest and best-preserved Norman castles in Ireland, sits right on the River Suir in the town centre and is well worth a walk around. The Swiss Cottage at Cahir Park is a short drive away. There is more to see in Cahir and across Co. Tipperary.
