Lianne McCooey: Long Story Short

At The Town House, Omagh · 9 High Street, Omagh, BT78 1BA

Lianne McCooey: Long Story Short

Lianne McCooey brings her solo live show, Long Story Short, to The Town House on Omagh’s High Street for one September evening. McCooey is the voice behind The Panic Station Podcast - a Northern Irish comedy and chat show with a loyal following - and has a track record of pulling capacity crowds to her live events across the North. This is her own show, her own stories, told in her own words: the kind of evening that sits at that easy crossroads between live performance, storytelling and a good laugh. It suits anyone who enjoys sharp, warm, honest entertainment and wants a proper night out rather than a background soundtrack.

What to expect

Two hours in a town-centre venue with a performer who has built her audience the old-fashioned way - through a genuine connection with Northern Irish life, its quirks, its humour and its contradictions. Long Story Short is a touring show playing several venues across Northern Ireland in September 2026, with some dates reportedly selling fast. The Town House on High Street is a compact, intimate setting - the kind of room where a performer and an audience actually find each other. Arrive a little early, get settled, and expect an evening that moves quickly.

Getting there

Omagh sits on the A5 road in the west of Co. Tyrone, roughly equidistant between Derry and Enniskillen. From Belfast, it is about an hour and 20 minutes on the M1 and A4/A5. From Dublin, it is approximately two and a half hours via the N2 and A5. Translink operates bus services to Omagh from Belfast Europa Bus Centre and from Derry. The Town House is at 9 High Street, right in the town centre, a short walk from the main bus stops on Market Street. Town-centre street parking is available on nearby streets; the multi-storey car park on Drumragh Avenue is also a short walk.

While you’re in Omagh

Omagh is worth more than a single evening. The Ulster American Folk Park is one of the finest open-air museums on the island, telling the story of emigration to the New World in vivid, human terms. The town itself is compact and easy to explore on foot. There is more to see in Omagh and across Co. Tyrone.
