Adrian Knight - Comedy Hypnotist

At Strule Arts Centre · Townhall Square, Omagh, Co. Tyrone BT78 1DW

Adrian Knight Comedy Hypnotist performance

Adrian Knight has been pulling volunteers out of theatre seats and sending them into trances for more than 25 years, and his shows have a habit of selling out. If you have never seen a live comedy hypnosis show, this is a good one to start with - fast-paced, good-humoured, and driven entirely by the people sitting in the audience around you. It suits adults who enjoy interactive live entertainment, and the kind of crowd that is up for a laugh without being sure exactly what will happen to them next.

What to expect

The show opens with a mix of mind-reading and suggestion designed to relax the room, then Knight begins drawing volunteers forward to take part. Once onstage, participants are guided through a series of scenarios - losing their inhibitions, taking on characters, reacting to prompts - all played for laughs rather than mystique. Knight has performed in front of tens of thousands of people annually on luxury cruise ships, at conferences, and at live venues across Ireland and the UK, so the pacing is tight and the comedy is consistent. The Strule Arts Centre bills this as “one of the funniest shows on the road in Ireland today,” and audiences regularly return to see Knight perform again. The show runs for 2 hours 5 minutes. Parental discretion is advised - the content is adult in tone. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased.

Getting there

Strule Arts Centre sits on Townhall Square in the centre of Omagh, right in the town itself and easy to find. Omagh is the county town of Tyrone and well connected by road - the A5 brings you in from Derry or Dublin direction, and the A505 links east to Cookstown and west to Enniskillen. Bus Eireann and Translink serve Omagh from Derry, Belfast, Enniskillen and other towns. Street parking and surface car parks are available a short walk from the venue; the square itself is pedestrianised around the arts centre.

While you’re in Omagh

Omagh sits at the confluence of the Camowen and Drumragh rivers, forming the Strule, and the area around the town is quiet Tyrone countryside worth exploring if you are making a day of it. There is more to see in Omagh and across Co. Tyrone.
