Dundalk Craft Market

At An Tain Arts Centre · Crowe Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth

Craft stalls inside An Tain Arts Centre in Dundalk

What to Expect

Dundalk Craft Market brings the town’s makers indoors to An Tain Arts Centre on the last Saturday of every month, running from 11am to 3pm. It was set up specifically to give Dundalk’s crafters a regular showcase of their own, in a town that for years had craft and farmers markets but nothing dedicated purely to local handmade work. Expect a changing mix of stalls from local artists and crafters, covering things like handmade jewellery, art, textiles, candles and other small-batch craft work, with the exact line-up varying from month to month depending on who has booked a table. There is no admission fee, though the market usually runs a small raffle in aid of the day’s running costs, with tickets priced between 5 and 20 euro. Because it is held inside the arts centre rather than outdoors or in a car park, it runs regardless of weather, which is not something every Louth market can promise through the fuller winter months. The market is a genuinely small-scale, community-run operation rather than a commercial promotion, organised directly by one of the participating crafters, and it sits alongside An Tain’s usual programme of theatre, music and visual art rather than taking over the whole building for the day.
