What to Expect

Electric Picnic 2026 takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois, from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August. Ireland’s largest and most celebrated music and arts festival returns with a headline lineup that places Gorillaz on the main stage Saturday night and Fontaines D.C. closing the festival on Sunday, providing a homecoming moment for one of Ireland’s most important bands of the modern era.

The 2026 lineup also includes CMAT, who has become one of the most beloved Irish acts of her generation; British rap artist Skepta, whose live shows are among the most electrifying on the circuit; Swedish pop phenomenon Zara Larsson; plus Wunderhorse, Role Model, Geese, and US singer-songwriter Sombr among the first wave of announced acts. With considerably more names still to be announced, the 2026 edition is shaping up as one of the most substantial in recent years.

Electric Picnic is much more than a music festival. Spread across 600 acres of the Stradbally Hall estate, it encompasses multiple stages of comedy, theatre, spoken word and arts alongside the main music programme, with Body and Soul, the Electric Arena, the Rankin’ Wood and numerous smaller areas each creating distinct atmospheres across the weekend. Food and drink at the festival are consistently rated as the best of any Irish event, with dozens of quality vendors spread throughout the site.

For those travelling from Dublin, Stradbally is approximately 90 minutes by car, and a substantial shuttle bus operation runs from Dublin city centre for the full weekend.
