NKETS Celbridge Summer Art Camp

At North Kildare Educate Together School · Celbridge, Co. Kildare

NKETS summer art camp poster

A week-long summer art camp for children aged 6 to 10, run by The Craft Corner at North Kildare Educate Together School in Celbridge. Each day brings a different set of projects - painting experiments, 3D construction work, nature artwork and drawing skills - with children working through a range of materials and techniques across the five days. It suits kids who love making things as much as those who have never held a paintbrush in a class before. Groups are kept small so every child gets attention, and the school setting means there is proper space to work and move around. The Craft Corner has been running art camps in Celbridge for a number of years, and this is one of their established summer venues.

What to expect

Each day covers a new project rather than continuing the same piece all week, which keeps things varied and gives children something finished to bring home each afternoon. Mediums include painting, mixed media, sculpture and drawing - so by Friday a child will have worked across several different ways of making art. The camp runs Monday to Friday, 6 to 10 July 2026, with sessions starting at 10am. The Craft Corner recommends bringing old clothes or a dedicated painting top, as things can get messy. A snack and a drink for break time are also worth packing. Siblings who are in different age groups can be collected at the same time, which is handy for families with children across the age range.

Getting there

Celbridge sits on the River Liffey roughly 20 km west of Dublin city centre, just off the N4. By car from Dublin, take the N4 towards Galway and exit at Celbridge - the drive is typically 25 to 30 minutes outside peak hours. From Maynooth or Naas, Celbridge is a short drive on the R403 or R445. Parking is available on-site at North Kildare Educate Together School. By public transport, Dublin Bus route 67 runs between the city and Celbridge, and there are connecting services from Hazelhatch train station on the Cork/Limerick commuter line, about 4 km away. A taxi or lift from Hazelhatch is straightforward.

While you’re in Celbridge

Celbridge is home to Castletown House, the largest Palladian mansion in Ireland, with free access to the grounds along the Liffey - worth a walk after pick-up. There is more to see in Celbridge and across Co. Kildare.
