Rugged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette Tribute at Spirit Store

At Spirit Store · Georges Quay, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 NR79

The Spirit Store, Dundalk

If you grew up with Jagged Little Pill on heavy rotation, this one is worth the trip to Dundalk. Rugged Little Pill is Ireland’s dedicated tribute to Alanis Morissette - a band built around the 1995 album that sold over 33 million copies and spent years lodged in bedrooms, car stereos and late-night playlists across the world. The Spirit Store on Georges Quay is exactly the right room for it: intimate, no-fuss, and loud enough to matter. Good for fans of 90s alternative rock, people who can recite “You Oughta Know” word for word, and anyone who missed Morissette’s own anniversary touring of the record.

What to expect

Rugged Little Pill take you through the Jagged Little Pill album alongside other Morissette material - think “Ironic”, “Hand in My Pocket”, “All I Really Want” and a catalogue that has aged better than most of its era. The band has been performing across Ireland for several years, with shows at Dublin’s Grand Social and Sound House, Dolan’s in Limerick and venues in Belfast, bringing a setlist that leans into the crowd-pleasers while covering the deeper cuts too. The Spirit Store holds around 200 in the main room, so the sightlines are good from most spots and there is no bad place to stand. Doors open at 7:30pm.

Getting there

Dundalk is on the main Dublin to Belfast rail corridor, with regular Irish Rail services from Dublin Connolly taking around an hour. Bus Eireann runs express coaches on the same route. By road, the M1 motorway brings you straight to Dundalk from Dublin (roughly 90 minutes from the city centre in ordinary traffic) and from Belfast (about an hour). The Spirit Store is on Georges Quay, close to the town centre - street parking is available nearby in the evening, and there are car parks within a short walk in the town.

While you’re in Dundalk

Dundalk sits on the main Dublin-Belfast corridor with the Cooley Mountains to the north, and the quayside area around the Spirit Store has good options for food before the show. There is more to see in Dundalk and across Co. Louth.
