The Classic Beatles

At The Spirit Store · Georges Quay, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 NR79

The Classic Beatles tribute band promotional photo

The Classic Beatles have built a reputation for doing something most tribute acts avoid - picking a specific era and going deep into it rather than padding out a greatest-hits show. This year their focus is Revolver, the 1966 album that marks the point where the Beatles stopped being a live band and became something stranger and more ambitious. The anniversary tour comes to the Spirit Store in Dundalk on a Friday night in July, and it is exactly the kind of event that rewards showing up early and staying late.

What to expect

The Classic Beatles have toured Ireland consistently since at least 2023, with each run built around a different chapter of the catalogue - the Number 1s in 2023, Magical Mystery Tour in 2024, The 1965 Tour last year. The 2026 show centres on Revolver at 60, which means the band describes it as their biggest artistic challenge yet: songs like Taxman and Eleanor Rigby sit alongside the psychedelic sprawl of Tomorrow Never Knows, tracks that were never performed live by the originals and demand real craft to pull off on stage. The band plays them note-perfect, with strong vocal resemblances to the Fab Four that reviewers have called “fastidiously authentic.”

Doors open at 19:30. Tickets are €25 plus a €2 booking fee, available through the Spirit Store’s own ticketing page. The venue is an intimate quayside bar and live music room on Georges Quay - small enough that there is no bad spot in the room. Food from the venue’s street-food-inspired kitchen is available in the early evening if you want to eat before the show.

Getting there

Dundalk is on the main Dublin - Belfast rail corridor, roughly 80 minutes from Connolly Station by Enterprise or commuter train; the station is about a ten-minute walk from Georges Quay. By road, the M1 motorway runs directly to Dundalk from both Dublin (under an hour) and Belfast (about 40 minutes). Georges Quay is in the town centre near the harbour. Street parking is available in the surrounding streets in the evening, and there are a couple of town-centre car parks within a short walk.

While you’re in Dundalk

Dundalk is a working-sized town with a decent pub scene, a strong sporting culture, and a harbour area that rewards a stroll before an evening gig. There is more to see in Dundalk and across Co. Louth.
