What to Expect

Daly’s Comedy Club has been running out of Daly’s Bar and Lounge on Omagh’s High Street since 2010 and is one of the longest-established stand-up nights in Co. Tyrone, built on a mix of Northern Ireland circuit regulars and touring acts. The next date, billed as the September Show, is the first Club Show back after the venue’s summer break, and it runs as a full lineup night rather than a single headline act working alone. Confirmed for the bill are Sean Hegarty, Ian Thomson and Soupy Campbell, with Ruairi Woods, a familiar face in Daly’s support slots, stepping up to a headline billing for the first time on this date. Club Shows earlier in the year have run with a resident compere, Conor Keys, holding the evening together between acts, and the format stays close to straight stand-up rather than sketch, character work or improv. It is pitched at an adult crowd out for a night in the town centre rather than a family show, and the room at Daly’s is a bar setting rather than a theatre, so expect a livelier, closer atmosphere than a seated arts centre gig.

Getting There

Daly’s Bar and Lounge is on High Street in the centre of Omagh, Co. Tyrone’s county town, an easy walk from the bus station and the main town centre car parks. Omagh sits where the Camowen and Drumragh rivers meet to form the Strule, and the streets around High Street have a good spread of bars and places to eat for anyone building a night out around the show. The A5 connects Omagh north to Derry and south to Dublin via Monaghan, and the A505 links east towards Cookstown, so the town is reachable from most of Co. Tyrone within half an hour to an hour.
