Omagh Music Festival returns for a weekend across Strule Arts Centre and venues around Omagh town centre on Friday, 9 October and Saturday, 10 October 2026. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council runs the festival to celebrate the town’s musical heritage, and past editions have leaned into Omagh’s showband and singing history rather than staging a generic touring line-up.
Previous festivals have paired an evening of music and conversation, oral histories of Omagh’s music scene told alongside radio broadcasters, with a heritage trail around the town tracing former venues and showband history, closing with a headline concert. A recent edition centred on Omagh-connected performers, including chart singer Frankie McBride and the late Frank Chisum, whose grandson performed in tribute. The council appoints a delivery partner each year to design the weekend’s programme, so the exact shape of the 2026 festival, who performs and what the heritage trail covers, was still being finalised as this was written, following a call for expressions of interest that closed in July 2026. What is fixed is the weekend itself and the anchor venue: Strule Arts Centre, with additional events across the town centre.
Strule Arts Centre is on Townhall Square in Omagh town centre, within walking distance of the bus station and the main car parks, with the rest of the festival’s town-centre venues close by on foot.
