At Strule Arts Centre · Townhall Square, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, BT78 1BL
Réalta bring their blend of dual uilleann pipes, whistles and a driving rhythm section to the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh on Friday, 11 September 2026. The Belfast-founded group has spent more than a decade building a reputation as one of the busiest touring acts in Irish traditional music, playing festival stages across Europe, Asia and North America. Omagh audiences get a rare chance to see them on a home stage, in a set of reels, jigs, airs and songs that draws on both the tradition and the band’s own writing.
The line-up centres on two uilleann pipers alongside whistles, guitar, mandolin, bodhrán and fiddle, giving Réalta’s arrangements a fuller, more layered sound than a typical session band. Irish Music Magazine has tracked the group’s progress from a pipe and whistle heavy debut record to increasingly ambitious later releases, and that range comes through live, with driving instrumental sets sitting alongside quieter airs and songs. The band write a good share of their own material as well as drawing on the wider tradition, so the set is not simply a run through standards. Strule Arts Centre’s auditorium is an intimate room for a touring act of this size, and the venue’s usual format for a concert like this is a single set with an interval, followed by time to meet the band in the foyer bar afterwards.
The Strule Arts Centre is on Townhall Square in Omagh town centre, within walking distance of the main bus stops and several pay car parks. Translink bus services connect Omagh to Belfast, Derry and towns across Tyrone and Fermanagh.
